ABOUT THE FOUNDER:

Willington Amankwah Marfo is a highly accomplished individual with a wealth of experience in various fields. He is the current President of the MARWILAK Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to supporting brilliant young students who are in need.
Mr. Marfo holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the prestigious University of Ghana, Legon. He also holds a Post-graduate Law degree from the University of Professional Studies, Accra, and a Master’s in Business Administration from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Ghana.
With over a decade of experience in both the public and private sectors, Mr. Marfo has held various leadership positions, including serving as a legal advisor to several companies and organizations. He has also served as a consultant on various projects and has provided legal and business advisory services to a wide range of clients.
Mr. Marfo is highly respected in the legal and business communities for his exceptional leadership skills, his extensive knowledge of the law and business, and his unwavering commitment to excellence. He is also known for his philanthropic activities, and has been involved in several charitable organizations, including the MARWILAK Foundation, which he founded to support brilliant young students who are in need.
As the President of the MARWILAK Foundation, Mr. Marfo is committed to ensuring that the organization achieves its mission of providing educational support to needy but brilliant students. He is highly dedicated to the cause and is constantly working to ensure that the foundation operates efficiently and effectively in achieving its goals.

WHO WE ARE

The MARWILAK Foundation is a non-profit organization established on March 28th, 2023, with the mission of supporting brilliant but needy young students. The MARWILAK Foundation is dedicated to providing financial and material support to brilliant young students who lack the financial resources to pursue their academic aspirations. We believe that every student deserves access to quality education, regardless of their financial background, and we are committed to empowering the next generation of leaders. Our aim is to create a level playing field for students from all backgrounds by removing financial barriers to education and providing a pathway to success.

1. Regular Members

Regular members are individuals who have been approved by the foundation’s membership committee and have paid their annual membership dues. Regular members have the right to vote at the foundation’s annual general meetings, run for the foundation’s board of directors, and participate in the foundation’s activities and programs.

2. Honorary Members

Honorary members are individuals who have made significant contributions to the foundation’s mission and values. Honorary membership is granted by the foundation’s board of directors and does not require annual membership dues. Honorary members do not have voting rights but are invited to attend the foundation’s events and activities.

3. Student Members

Student members are individuals who are currently enrolled in an accredited educational institution and meet the membership criteria set by the foundation. Student membership dues are reduced and are subject to approval by the foundation’s membership committee. Student members have the right to vote at the foundation’s annual general meetings and participate in the foundation’s activities and programs.

4. Corporate Members

Corporate members are organizations or businesses that support the foundation’s mission and values. Corporate membership dues are set by the foundation’s board of directors and are subject to approval by the membership committee. Corporate members have the right to vote at the foundation’s annual general meetings and participate in the foundation’s activities and programs.

SUGGESTED PROGRAM MANUAL FOR EACH OF THE PROGRAMS MENTIONED EARLIER AND HOW THEY WILL BE IMPLEMENTED BY THE MARWILAK FOUNDATION

Program 1: Scholarship Program

Description: The Scholarship Program is designed to support brilliant young students who are needy. The program provides scholarships to cover tuition fees, accommodation, and other educational expenses.

Implementation:

  1. The foundation will advertise the Scholarship Program on its website and social media platforms to attract eligible applicants.
  2. The foundation will set up a scholarship committee to evaluate applications and select recipients based on eligibility criteria.
  3. The scholarship committee will verify the information provided by applicants and conduct interviews to determine the most deserving recipients.
  4. The foundation will award scholarships to successful applicants and monitor their progress throughout the academic year.
  5. The foundation will organize an annual scholarship award ceremony to recognize and celebrate the achievements of scholarship recipients.

Program 2: Mentorship Program

Description: The Mentorship Program is designed to provide guidance and support to young students as they navigate their academic and professional journey.

Implementation:

  1. The foundation will advertise the Mentorship Program on its website and social media platforms to attract eligible applicants.
  2. The foundation will recruit qualified mentors to provide guidance and support to mentees.
  3. The foundation will match mentors with mentees based on shared interests and goals.
  4. Mentors and mentees will be expected to meet regularly, either in person or virtually, to discuss academic and professional goals, challenges, and opportunities.
  5. The foundation will organize workshops, seminars, and networking events to facilitate interactions between mentors and mentees and provide additional support and resources.

Program 3: Internship Program

Description: The Internship Program is designed to provide students with hands-on experience in their chosen field of study.

Implementation:

  1. The foundation will collaborate with partner organizations to identify internship opportunities for students.
  2. The foundation will advertise internship opportunities on its website and social media platforms and provide guidance to students on how to apply.
  3. The foundation will work with partner organizations to ensure that internship positions are meaningful and provide opportunities for students to learn and grow.
  4. The foundation will monitor the progress of students during their internships and provide support as needed.
  5. The foundation will organize a feedback session at the end of each internship period to evaluate the effectiveness of the program and identify areas for improvement.

 

Program 4: Community Outreach Program

Description: The Community Outreach Program is designed to support and empower marginalized communities through educational and social initiatives.

Implementation:

  1. The foundation will partner with community organizations and leaders to identify needs and opportunities for educational and social initiatives.
  2. The foundation will develop and implement educational programs and workshops that address the specific needs of the community.
  3. The foundation will collaborate with local businesses and organizations to provide resources and support for community initiatives.
  4. The foundation will organize social events and activities that promote community building and cultural exchange.
  5. The foundation will monitor the effectiveness of its community outreach programs and evaluate their impact on the communities served.
